Sabina was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Scott, Saskatchewan to John and Magdalena Volk, immigrants from Odessa, Ukraine. She grew up on the Canadian prairie. Her first occupation as a young adult was a brief term as a prairie school house teacher. She married Charles Grove May 21, 1959. They had a loving and happy marriage, being blessed with four children. She spent most of her child-rearing years in northern Idaho, then moved to southwestern Oregon in 1981. Sabina was a stay-at-home mom, keeping an impeccable household and raising her four children with gentle firmness, encouraging them in all their endeavors as their biggest fan. She loved to sew and read and listen to good classical music. Sabina is survived by Charles Grove, her husband of 52 years, of Harbor; daughter Becky Schafer and husband Rob of Gold Beach, and grandchildren Sam, Joe and Maggy Schafer; daughter Valerie Cowan and husband Pete of Brookings, and grandchildren Ben, Gemma, Shanon Cowan, Ann and Royal Sybrandt; son Stanley Grove of Lander, Wyo.
