Ruth Bybee

Ruth Bybee, 100, Brookings, died Oct. 30, 2000, at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.

She was born Aug. 11, 1900, in Belleville, Wis.

She and her husband Carl moved to Brookings in 1971 from Klamath Falls where she owned and operated a hotel. She had previously owned and managed a restaurant in Linden, Wash.

Mrs. Bybee was a resident of the Chetco Inn and it was at her request that special thanks for her excellent care be offered to the administrator and staff.

She celebrated her 100th birthday in August with many friends and relatives at the Chetco Inn.

Survivors are stepdaughter JoAnn and her husband Clayton LaVine, Anacortes, Wash.; stepson Alan and his wife Gertrude Saar, Sumas, Wash.; nieces and nephews Irene and Duke Denny, Vesper, Wis.; Alice Richards, Cross Plains, Wis.; Ray and Betty Story, Hinsdale, Ill.; Georgeanne and Earle Meandler, St. Paul, Minn.; Jean and Ron Seaborg, Homassa Springs, Fla.; Dorothy Schwartz, Madison, Wis.; cousin-in-law Lucile Birdseye, Bellevue, Wash.

Also surviving are many step-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband Carl Bybee Nov. 10, 1997.

Arrangements are under the direction of Littys Funeral Directors, Brookings Chapel.
