Ronald Duvall passed away Aug. 22, 2012, at Rogue Valley Hospital in Medford. He was 78 years of age.
Ron was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Sacramento, Calif., to Alfred and Anna Duvall.
He is survived by Twila, his wife of 16 years; son David Duvall; daughter-in-law Janice; and grandchildren Daniel and Rebekah.
In 1952, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Kearsarge, and was stationed in Hawaii.
Upon his discharge from the Navy, he was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad for 10 years. He then took employment with the State of California where he held the position of building manager and retired, after 30 years, in 1997.
Ron was quite knowledgeable in many areas. He could repair anything repairable and sometimes things that were not He was generous with his knowledge and time spent helping others. Ron loved building and flying model airplanes and riding Harley bikes. He enjoyed traveling, visiting such places as Greece, Switzerland, Germany, England, and Egypt – to name a few. He loved animals, especially his dog “Holly.”
Ron was a member of the Harding San Juan Masonic Lodge 3579 in Citrus Heights, Calif., for many years.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Masonic Hall, 416 Azalea Park Road, in Brookings. A luncheon reception will follow.
