Ronald Clyde Oliver

Ronald Clyde Oliver, 41, Crescent City, died Feb. 17, 2001, in Crescent City.

He was born Aug. 12, 1959, in Crescent City, to Jake Lee and Shirley Oliver.

He attended Smith River Elementary School, Fort Dick Redwood School and Del Norte High School.

Mr. Oliver was employed as a commercial fisherman for 20 years.

Survivors are his mother Shirley Swieringa of Brookings; sister Wanda Russell of Brookings; brother Jake Oliver of Cedar City, Utah; children Ronald Lee Oliver. Shyann Oliver and Shawnee Oliver, all of Crescent City; fiance Dena Nelson and her children Chris and Rhianna Nelson, all of Crescent City.

Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Smith River Cemetery, Smith River, Calif. A memorial fellowship at Smith River Community Hall will follow the service.

The family requests that contributions be made to the Commercial Fishermans Wives Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 676, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wiers Mortuary Chapel, Crescent City.
