Rodney Earl Landrum

Rodney Earl Landrum, 71, Brookings, died April 27, 2001, at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.

He was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Minden, La., to Lora Burt Manning and Moses Monroe Landrum.

He grew up in Minden.

He married Katina Kalathakii Oct. 14, 1954, in Salonika, Greece.

He served in the Korean War as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three stars, Purple Heart, United Nations Medal, Presidential Unit Citation.

Mr. Landrum worked at AT&T and retired in 1989. He moved to Brookings in 1990.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors are daughters Alexandra Christina Rucker of Laramie, Wyo.; Romie Landrum Krickbaum of Cedar Hill, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Kerasia and Robert Schaefer of Brookings; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law Rita and Benny Ferro of Salt Lake City, Utah; Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his wife Katina Landrum who died April 22, 2001.
