Robert Lee Sanchez Jr.

Robert Lee Sanchez Jr. passed away unexpectedly  June 2, 2012.

Robert was born July 23, 1994, in Crescent City, to Robert and Mary Sanchez. He was later joined by siblings Alex and Destanee Sanchez.

Robert was a joyful young man. He always had a smile on his face, and could make anyone feel better no matter what the situation. He was actively involved in church and was part of the core group of the Redwoods Family Worship Center youth group. Robert touched a lot of lives in his short time here on earth, and will be remembered by all he interacted with. He is now in heaven walking the golden streets with his little cousin Morgynn.

Robert enjoyed airsoft wars, paintball wars, and playing Xbox with his friends and his brother. When he would play Xbox with his friends they would always give him the sniper position because “he was the best sniper” according to his brother. He liked having bonfires with his friends, and enjoyed working out with his friends at school. He loved music, and had an aspiration to learn how to play the bass guitar. He would spend time with his younger brother writing songs. He was softhearted and loved children and animals. He loved his family, and was very protective of his little sister Destanee and his cousin Preslynn. He would spend time with them in Grandma’s backyard, climbing the trees and building forts.

Robert had goals, and was working to be able to buy a Toyota Tundra, his favorite truck. He was close to getting his license and was very excited about where life was headed. He planned on joining the U.S. Army, and had signed up for BCT for next summer.

He is survived by his parents Robert L. Sanchez of Crescent City and Mary Sanchez of Brookings; siblings Alex and Destanee Sanchez; grandparents Veronica Tucker of Crescent City, Robert R. and Josie Sanchez of Trinidad, Colo., Clay and Sue Mansur of Brookings; aunts and uncles Mary Shaw and William Eldredge Jr. of Crescent City, Terri and Ron Hill of Eureka, Calif., Melissa and Matthew Ford of Crescent City, Troy Chacey and fiancée Kayleen Morrison of Crescent City, Rustie Mansur of Brookings, Mert and Krystal Mansur of Eugene; and numerous cousins.

A service will be held at 5 p.m. today (June 16) at Redwoods Family Worship Center, 2900 English Lane, in Crescent City, with a celebration of life to follow. Refreshments will be provided.

Two donation accounts have been set up to help with funeral cost and final arrangements. Donations may be tax deductible.
