Robert Charles Roork

Robert Charles Roork, 71, Harbor, died of cancer Feb. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1930, in San Francisco and grew up in Southern California. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1951.

He met and married his wife, Karen, and they raised two sons and one daughter. They were later divorced.

Bob worked 26 years for Operating Engineers as a grade checker and surveyor.

He then worked for Rockwell International as a toolmaker. He retired in May 1990.

He married Marilyn Cottle Nov. 10, 1990, in Lancaster, Calif., where they made their home until 1993, then moved to Brookings.

Bob enjoyed woodworking and furniture-making during his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Harbor; his children, Lee Roork of Inyokern, Calif.; Jim Roork of Quartz Hill, Calif.; and Jennifer Roach and her husband, Ed.

He is also survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons, and stepchildren, Brenda Acuff of Arkansas and Cheryl Carter of West Virginia, five step-grandsons and three step-granddaughters.

Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
