Robert Bob Jackson

Robert Bob Jackson, 96, Central Point, died Dec. 19, 2000, at Alderwood Assisted Living.

He was born May 15, 1904, in Munlocky, Scotland. He immigrated in 1921.

He worked in the lumber industry in Northern California for many years, then moved to the Central Valley. He retired as manager of a farm that grew cuttings for the florist industry.

During World War II, he served in Europe as a truck driver and mechanic.

Mr. Jackson visited the Brookings-Harbor area and knew he had found his spot, his family said.

He loved the ocean and fishing. He lived at the Chetco RV Park for more than 18 years. He walked daily, with his cane and back-pack as he made his rounds to the boat basin and local markets. He moved to Central Point two years ago to be nearer to his daughter.

Survivors are daughters, Jeanette Eliason, Medford; Loretta Trzaska of Sacramento.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his wife Vivian.

No services are planned.
