Reva Mary Lou Fox, 83, Brookings, died May 13, 2002, at an area care facility of natural causes.
She was born June 17, 1918, in Sevier County, Tenn., to Jesse and Lede Cardelia Starkey.
She grew up in a remote area near Kodak, Tenn.
She married George Fox in 1936. They were separated for many years.
She worked in various settings throughout her life, primarily as a waitress and a nursing assistant. She moved from Tennessee to California in 1965 to be near her son George Jr. and his family. She continued to follow them through several moves, most recently to Brookings in 1998.
She enjoyed shopping and, in her earliest days, was an avid walker. She enjoyed cooking, and in recent years, found pleasure in baking cakes for friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Kenneth Fox and wife, Janie of Seymour, Tenn.; George Fox Jr. and wife, Ruth of Brookings; Harlan Fox and girlfriend, Pat. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A private family inurnment will be at Ward Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
