Raymond Crawford Weaver, 88, Brookings, died May 20, 2002, of natural causes at Curry Good Samaritan Center in Brookings.

Mr. Crawford was born Sept. 5, 1913, in Marshfield to Walter C. Weaver and Allie B. Vineyard Weaver. His parents were born in Indian Territory in 1875 and 1880. They came to Oregon via wagon train in 1897 and were married in Idaho on that way to Marshfield.

Mr. Weaver moved from Marshfield to Grants Pass in 1930. He worked as a logger, farmer, and dairyman. He enjoyed ocean fishing, gardening and woodwork. He built two houses in the Winchuck River Valley, and built two dory boats.

He married Helen Lorraine Looney of Marshfield, June 12, 1937.

He is survived by his wife, sons, Gay L Weaver and Bill R. Weaver of Brookings; Jim H. Weaver of Waucaonda, Wash.; daughters, Marva R. Stout of Grants Pass; Karen L. Weaver of Springfield; brother, Robert L. Weaver of Wilbur; sister Eunice Weaver of Albany.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Donations may be made to the Calvary Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery. A service will follow at Calvary Assembly of God Church at about 2:30.

Arrangements under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
