Ralph R. Egbert, 79, Brookings, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at his home in Brookings.

He was born April 26, 1922 in Fort Smith, Ark., to William Henry and Lula (Mcentire) Egbert.

He married Ruth Rothe on May 28, 1948, and later became a lead aircraft engine mechanic for United Airlines, retiring in 1984 from the San Francisco maintenance base.

He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Brookings.

Survivors include his wife of Brookings, and sister Lois Garvin of Visalia, Calif.

Preceding him in death were three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation for Mr. Egbert will be today (Oct. 24) from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. at Ward Memorial Cemetery and a memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 518 Fir St.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Calvary Assembly of God Church, or to the American Cancer Society, 31 W. Sixth St., Medford, OR 97501.
