Paul Nelson Spencer, 19, Brookings, died May 1, 2002, in Walla Walla, Wash.
He was born Sept. 21, 1982, in Brookings to Ron and Sandi Spencer. He attended Cape Ferrelo Adventist Elementary School, Crescent City Junior Academy, and graduated with honors from Milo Adventist Academy in May 2000.
He was a sophomore at Walla Walla College.
Mr. Spencer loved animals, enjoyed riding quads on the sand dunes, camping and outdoor adventures.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Gabriel of Walla Walla; paternal grandfather, Clyde Spencer and his wife, Lois of Grand Haven, Mich.; maternal grandfather, Robert Colestock and his wife, Lila of Bay City, Mich.; aunts and their husbands, Sharon and Bryan Hall of Detroit; Beverly and Clif Creasy of Edmond, Okla.; and Gwynne and Dwight Shaver of Lima, Peru; uncles and their wives, Richard and Evelyn Spencer of Grand Haven, Mich.; Steve and Tanna Spencer of Wilderville, Tenn.; Mark and Jaycelyn Colestock of New Brighton, Minn.; and Corey and Rebecca Colestock of Minnetonka, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Louise Spencer, and maternal grandmother, Melba Colestock.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Brookings Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jim Bollin of the Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church and Pastor Carl Wilkens officiating.
