Longtime resident Patricia Anne Segler, age 80, of Brookings, passed away Feb. 24, 2012, following an extended illness.

She was born June 28, 1931, in San Francisco, the eldest daughter of Reginald Craig and Lucille Craig. 

In her younger years she enjoyed gardening, square dancing, fishing, and water skiing at Lake Don Pedro. An avid reader, she also liked to knit blankets for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son James Williams of Brookings;  daughters Karen Williams of Brookings and Lynda Williams of Oakton, Va. Loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Williams and her husband William Segler.

Special thanks to caregiver Micah Williams, Paul Fleming for providing spiritual guidance, and the wonderful care team from Curry County Hospice.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or service prior to cremation. 

A Mass will be offered at 8 a.m. Wednesday March 28, at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 820 Old Country Road, in Brookings. 

Arrangements under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel, in Brookings.
