Norma J. Clawson, 87, Brookings, died Sept. 20, 2000.
She was born Jan. 22, 1913, in Oblong, Ill., to Ernest and Minnie (Ikemeir) Sheets.
She and her family moved to Minot, N.D., where she graduated high school.
She married her first husband, Pete Eliason, in October 1930. He died in 1957.
She married Theodore S. Clawson in Tacoma, Wash., Feb. 12, 1970.
In 1971, he retired and they decided to travel the U.S. in their motor home. They traveled until 1977 when they moved to Las Vegas where they lived in the winter. They bought a summer home in Brookings.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, crocheting.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lakewood, Wash., and a member of the Pythian Sisters of Washington County, Ore.
Survivors are her husband Theodore S. Clawson, Brookings; sons Darvin Eliason, Bend; Robert Eliason, Estacada; daughters Judith Ann Eliason, Tacoma; Virginia and her husband Robert Pearson, Virginia Beach, Va.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for today (Sept. 23) at 3 p.m. at Scantlins Brookings Chapel, No. 2 Ross Road.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary Chapel.
