Former Brookings resident Myrtle Armstrong of Chico, Calif., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Portland, and lived in the Bay Area of California until moving to Brookings, where she lived for more than 20 years.
She was an avid Bridge player and quilter, worked with Meals on Wheels and was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Amicarella and Patricia Jensen of Chico; stepdaughter Katherine Dubois (Serge) of Oakley, Calif.; grandchildren Suzanne Tefs (Michael), Elizabeth Paustian, Anne Marie Jensen, Andrew Jensen (Theresa), Amy Jensen-O’Keefe (Chris) and Michael Dubois; great-granddaughters Chelsea Quillen (Jason) and Katherine Jensen.
Myrtle was preceded in death by George McRella, her husband of 17 years; and John Armstrong her husband of 32 years.
Services were conducted at Townsend House in Chico.
