Maxine L. Hancock

Maxine L. Hancock, 83, Brookings, died Dec. 8, 2001, in Brookings.

She was born May 25, 1918, in Beardstown, Ill., and was raised in Bloomington, Ill.

She was the office manager for the Civil Service at the Port Chicago Weapons Station before settling in Vallejo, Calif.

She lived in Harbor for the past 12 years.

She volunteered at the Chetco Senior Center and delivered for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include son, Robert Hancock of Fairfield Calif. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband Omar Lee Hancock; son, William Hancock and daughter Cindy Tetz.

Remembrances may be made in her name to Chetco Senior Center Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1444, Brookings, OR 97415.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
