Marilyn C. Brown, 71, Brookings, died Nov. 28, 2000.
She was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Ukiah, Calif., to Charles F. and Ruth Moffitt.
In 1930, the family moved to Napa, Calif., where her father worked as a Chevrolet dealer as served as mayor.
She married Richard Brown Dec. 1, 1946.
The two shared a love of hiking, fishing and gardening, and a spirit of adventure. That spirit led them to Good Grief, Idaho, where they ran a community store.
In 1990, they moved to Brookings where Mrs. Brown was active in the Brookings R.V. Club. She and her husband spent many hours in the workshop beside their home creating diorama of the ocean-front buildings and wharfs on the Oregon Coast.
She was active in projects in every community she lived in.
Survivors are her husband Richard Brown, Brookings; son Charles Brown; son-in-law Ronald Biago.
Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her daughter Christine.
No service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Curry County Hospice, P.O. Box 746, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary and Chapel.
