Marguerite Margaret Lucille Hurlburt Gordon , 89, Brookings, died Feb. 1, 2001, in Crescent City.
She was born Feb. 5, 1911, in Crescent, Okla.
She lived in Southern California where she was president of the North Hollywood Garden Club.
Mrs. Gordon enjoyed flowers and working in the yard. She also enjoyed needlepoint pictures, doing hand work and making several afghans for family and friends.
She moved to Brookings in 1964 from Southern California.
After the death of her first husband, Sherman Hurlburt in 1972, she married Rev. John Gordon of Brookings.
She was a member of the First Baptist Community Church, Rebekah Lodge for 67 years and the Grange for 35 years.
Survivors are her daughter Barbara Ratliff, Brookings; step-sons Wesley Hurlburt, Walnut Creek; John Roy Gorgon, Montana; Dan Gordon, Brookings; stepdaughters Phyllis Schlegel, Redding, Calif.; Charlotte Stone, Washington; sister Ada Ruth Rowe, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her first husband Sherman Hurlburt in 1972, and her second husband Rev. John Gordon in 1978; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 607 Pacific Ave.
A private interment will be held at Ward Memorial Cemetery.
