Margaret Lou Steinmetz

Margaret Lou Steinmetz, 76, Salem, died Oct. 23, 2000.

She was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Elm Creek, Neb.

She married Ferdie Steinmetz Oct. 28, 1945.

She lived a majority of her life in Brookings before moving to Salem in June 2000.

Mrs. Steinmetz enjoyed cake decorating, canning, sewing, camping, card playing and travel. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors are sons Edward V. Steinmetz, Molalla; William M. Steinmetz, Salem; Gregory L. Steinmetz, Salem; Stephen M. Steinmetz, Church Point, La.; daughter Anita M. Baumgarner, Salem; brothers Eugene R. Bowlin, Idaho; Robert Bowlin, Seattle, Wash.; Gary Bowlin, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Alan Bowlin, Whidbey Island, Wash.; sisters Shirley Smith, Salem; Elizabeth Wimberley, Brookings; Sharon Miller, Salem; Diana Batten, Salem.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A rosary will be said at 1 p.m.

Interment will be at Williamette National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Williamette Valley Hospice, 2700 Market St., N.E. Salem, OR 97303

Arrangements are under the direction of City View Funeral Home.
