Mabel Hicks

Mabel Seleatha Hicks, 97, Brookings, died Oct. 17, 2001, in Brookings.

She was born Dec. 31, 1903, in Lenapah, Okla. She worked in the aircraft business for Douglas Aircraft and Boeing Aircraft in California for 20 years.

She moved to Brookings from Southern California in 1969. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to WWI and VFW.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by her son, Marvin Pevehouse of Hemet, Calif.; daughter, Dorothy Naslund of Harbor; brothers Frank and James Battaglear of Coffeyville, Kan.; sisters, Betty Welty of Long Beach, Calif., and Jean Reynolds and Louise Conger of Coffeyville.

She is preceded in death by husband, Harold E. Hicks.
