Lura Belle "Nonny" Bell, 94, died May 19, 2002.

She was born in Reasoner, Iowa, on St. Patrick's Day in 1908.

Bell was a charter member of the Redwood Garden Club and an associate member of the U.S. Marine Corp. Club in San Francisco. She also worked for the Sonoma County coroner for 12 years.

Mrs. Bell gave time at the Sonoma County Volunteer Center and belonged to the same bridge club for 35 years.

She helped establish Christmas Tree Lane, a Santa Rosa institution for nearly half a century.

She is survived by a daughter, Brydene Perkins of Brookings; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bell.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 8, at 3 p.m. in the Wikiup Greens Clubhouse on Las Casitas in Santa Rosa.
