Linda Ruth (Erb) Donnelly, 63, died Dec. 11, 2011.
Linda was born March 4, 1948, in Eugene, to Donald A. and Dorothy Marie (Sluetel) Erb.
Life for Linda started in Junction City where her father and grandparents, Henry and Ruth Erb, owned a company that logged trees, milled lumber, and built personal residences.
Linda’s father, who worked in the timber industry, later moved their family to Weott, Calif., and then to Brookings, where Linda completed high school in 1966. After high school Linda attended and graduated from nursing school as an LPN in Medford, where she met her husband Jim, who was also from Brookings. They married in Reno, Nev., Aug. 26, 1967.
After Linda and Jim completed schooling in 1968 they lived and worked in the San Francisco, area until 1972. In 1972 Linda and Jim moved to Coos Bay with their two children Karin and Jimmy, where Linda spent the remainder of her life.
Linda continued to work as an LPN until several years after the family’s third child, Kristin, was born. Linda enjoyed being involved with her children as they grew so, a few years after Kristin was born, she spent full time planning and organizing events for her children, family and Girl Scouts family. Linda was able to take her scouts on many enjoyable field trips.
Linda was the event and travel planner for many family and extended family trips. She always had every detail planned and organized so everyone could enjoy the experience.
After their children were grown Linda became very involved in family genealogy which took her to Salt Lake City many times and extended trips around the United States and abroad in search of family roots and history.
Linda was very much a care provider so over many years she spent countless hours providing care for her grandparents, parents, mother and father-in-law, cousin, sister and brothers.
Linda is survived by husband, James W. “Jim” Donnelly; daughter Karin Ann (Donnelly) Smith; son James Curtis Donnelly; daughter Kristin Erika (Donnelly) Locati; brother Alvin LeRoy “Lee” Erb; and grandchildren Dillan Anthony Smith, Brianna Lynn Smith, Alexandra Nicole Locati and Anthony James Locati.
