Lewis P. Snyder

Lewis P. Snyder, 89, Brookings, died April 27, 2000, in Medford.

He was born Feb. 27, 1911, in Whitmer, W. Va.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe driving an ambulance.

He married Loretta Snyder Sept. 2, 1938. They moved to Brookings in 1986.

He was an avid fisherman and photographer. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 220 in Downey, Calif., and a member of Southern Cinema Camera Club.

Survivors are wife Loretta Snyder, Brookings; sister Ruth Herrick, Castaic, Calif.; nephews Richard Mundy, Aptos, Calif.; Paul Schmitz, Lancaster, Calif.; Tim Schmitz, Ft. Stockton, Texas; Wesley and John Herrick, both of Castaic, Calif.; niece Linda Bryan, Casa Grande, Ariz.; Nancy Graham, Castaic, Calif.; Jane Endsley, Perris, Calif.; Ottlie Webb, Lafayette, Ind.

Arrangements are under the direction of Litty Funeral Directors, Brookings Chapel.
