He was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Orville and Margaret Dimmick.
Les grew up in various areas of Northern California.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served at Pearl Harbor in addition to various other parts of the world.
He was friendly and outgoing and had lifelong friendships with many people, including friends in South Africa and the Pitcairn Islands.
Les was a partner in the grocery store business with his brother Bob, in Brookings. Following the sale of their business, Les moved to Colton, and then to Marquam.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews in Oregon, California and Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his two wives, Dorothy and Pauline Webb-Dimmick.
A memorial service was held Oct. 15, at the Marquam United Methodist Church.
Burial was at William J. Ward Cemetery in Brookings.
