Leatha Phillips

Leatha Phillips, 88, Brookings, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, in Crescent City.

She was born Jan. 23, 1914, near Minneapolis, Minn., to Arthur and Della Williamson.

As a teenager, she lived briefly in Brookings before graduating from high school in Sheridan.

In 1933 she married George S. Phillips and they made their home in Sheridan.

During his military service years, she was employed at Woods Grocery Store. In 1951 they purchased two shares in the Brookings Plywood Mill and moved to Brookings, where they have resided since.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, George; and niece, Alice Rush of Brookings.

Arrangements under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
