Judith Ann “Judy” Pierson

Sept. 7, 1937-Oct, 19, 2013

Former Brookings resident Judith Ann Pierson, 76, of North Bend, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in North Bend.

Judy was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Klamath Falls.

She had lived in Portland, Brookings-Harbor, and North Bend. Most of her adult life was spent in Brookings where she worked as a waitress and bartender.

Judy retired in 2002 and moved to North Bend in 2005. She was active in the North Bend Garden Club, Up & at Em’s, PI Club, and Silver Chair Yoga.

Judy was an avid fan of all sports. Her favorite teams were the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Portland Trail Blazers. She loved reading, playing bingo, working puzzle boards and taking care of her plants; she loved her cats. When she lived in Brookings she enjoyed going to the beach and finding agates.

Judy is survived by her daughter Debra Pierson of Coquille; grandson Bradey Smith of Eugene; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Autumn Smith of Eugene; brothers Phillip Johnson of Clackamas, Stephen Johnson of Brookings and Everett Johnson of Potter Valley, Calif.; sister Vanette Finley of Vancouver, Wash.; and many other relations.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Robert L. Johnson and mother Jessie E. Christopher.

Judy was very courageous and her will to live was great. She kept on participating in her life until she couldn’t any longer. She was loved very much and had many friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420.

Cremation rites were held at Ocean View Crematory in Coos Bay, under the direction of North Bend Chapel. No service is planned at this time.
