Joyce (Milet) Whiting passed away on May 2, 2013.
She grew up in Oakland Calif., and later raised four daughters in Sebastopol, Calif.
She taught pre-school and later became a psychology technician for the State of California.
Joyce married Arthur Whiting in 1983. They had many good, fun times together with their combined families and friends.
She moved to Brookings after retiring in 1998. She very much enjoyed dancing with the Italian Dance Group and volunteering with the Smart Reading Program. She was a member of Brookings Elks Lodge 1934. Joyce loved the Brookings area and her friends and neighbors.
Joyce leaves — to carry on hard work and love of life — her four daughters: Cheri Pollock, Cynthia Piazza, Candace Burt, Diana Wright, their spouses; six grandchildren. Also surviving are her stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur.
In memory: A smile and a hug a day help others and our beautiful planet.
