John L. Shaw, 89, of Cave Junction, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1922, in Bethel, Okla.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He and his wife Gracie moved to Oregon in 1945. He worked in the logging industry and lived in Brookings for many years.
John is survived by his son John L. Shaw Jr. (Dorothy) and his two daughters, Anita Bastian (Thomas) and Deloris Dessart (Donald); his sister Myrtle Broyoles; his sister-in-law Della Shaw. Also surviving are six grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. One nephew, Felix Shaw, was also a close friend of his.
John was preceded in death by his wife Gracie; his four brothers, Thelmor, Dick, Homer, and Bill; and two of his sisters, Sarah and Maggie.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 15, in Cave Junction.
