John Jack Larsen

John Jack Larsen, 75, Brookings, died of emphysema April. 24, 2001, at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.

He was born Jan. 21, 1926, in St. Paul, Minn., to William H. and Amy Larsen.

He served in the army and won the American Theater Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

He later became a self employed building contractor and retired in the 1970s.

Survivors include daughters Laura Larsen of Los Angeles; Julie McDonald of Brookings; sister Judy Nelson of Cottage Grove, Minn.; companion Eunice Babb of Brookings.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be today (April 28) at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 607 Pacific Ave.

Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church.
