Jocie Arlene Chandler 

Dec. 25, 1924-Aug. 10, 2014 

Longtime Gold Beach resident Jocie Arlene Chandler, 89, passed away Aug.10, 2014, at the Clark House in Moscow, Idaho.

Arlene was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Amity, Arkansas, to Noah and Gerri Hix Higgins. She was the sixth of 12 siblings. 

She was raised on a farm and helped pick cotton and corn.

Arlene married Lynn Chandler Dec. 7, 1957, in Gold Beach. They were married for 56 years. 

Mr. Chandler passed on Dec. 31, 2013, in Moscow. 

Arlene loved her flowers, cooking and sewing. She liked walking the beach and collecting white rocks for her flower beds. She loved children.

Arlene is survived by her stepsons Denny (Kay) and Duane (Janet) Chandler, all of Harvard, Idaho. Also surviving are five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband and all her siblings. 

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Rogue River Cemetery, Hunter Creek Loop, in Gold Beach.
