Jill Judy Ann English Allmendinger of Selby, S.D., died Feb. 17, 2014, at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1948, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Esther and Gerald Clemmer.
Jill grew up in Pico Riveria, Calif. Early in her life, Jill developed a strong love for all living creatures.
She moved to Brookings in her early 20s, where she soon married Brian English.
She worked as a veterinary technician for four years at Smith River Veterinary Hospital.
Jill took time off to raise her four children and to get involved with the Chetco Pelican Players, acting in several plays.
Upon reentering the workforce, Jill took a position in the photo developing department at the Curry Coastal Pilot.
In the late 1980s Jill moved to Denio, Nev. She married Steve Allmendinger on June 3, 1991, in Denio.
The couple moved to Selby S.D., in 1991. There they ranched and managed a local tavern.
Survivors include her husband Steve Allmendinger of Selby; sons James Cary Webb III of Hoben, S.D., Basil English of Salem; daughters Eve’ing Jordan of Manchester, N.H., Lea Holder of Selby; sister Jenna Steineke of Brookings. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
A service was held Feb. 21, in Selby.
