Jennifer Lee Evert
Jennifer Lee Evert
Crescent City resident Jennifer Lee Evert died unexpectedly May 20, 2013.

She was born Sept. 23, 1978, in Voorhees, N.J.

Jennifer grew up on the West Coast, completing high school in Porterville, Calif. In school Jennifer excelled academically, and enjoyed playing the flute and piccolo. She was also the first runner-up in the Miss Porterville Pageant in her senior year.

Jennifer was a free spirit who enjoyed life, making friend as she excelled in her careers, and who was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her. Jennifer loved the elderly, and had previously worked as a med charge at Ocean Park in Brookings. She had a special love for children and, although she was unable to have her own, she loved her niece and nephew, and her husband’s children as her own. Jennifer had recently started a new career at State Farm Insurance, working with Lisa McKeown, hoping to one day become an agent. After suffering much personal tragedy, Jennifer was still capable of lighting up a room with her beautiful smile, and touching the lives of everyone she met.

Survivors include her husband Barry Evert, and two sons Dominic and Caleb; parents Gina and Gary Bledsaw; dad William Dinan; brothers Todd Bledsaw, Darren Bledsaw, Shane Dinan, Josh Dinan, Kyle Dinan; sister Kristine Smith; niece Kourtney Lee Smith; nephew Noah David Michael Smith; in-laws Jim and Jeannette Evert; and close friends Chelsea, Joanne, Melissa, Paul and Mallory, Paula, Bill W., and hundreds more.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Wier’s Chapel, 408 G St., in Crescent City.

Remembrances may be made in her memory to CASA, 179 U.S. Highway 101 South, Crescent City CA 99531, or U.S. Funds for UNICEF, (specify program), 125 Maiden Lane, New York, N.Y. 10038. Jennifer’s husband asks that everyone wear a small pink ribbon in memory of Jennifer.
