Jay C. Lemire, 91, Brookings, died Dec. 19, 2000.
He was born Feb. 23, 1909, in Aitkin, Minn., to John B. Lemire and Diana (LaFreniere) Lemire.
Mr. Lemire lived in Klamath Falls for many years and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He married Evelyn Garcia June 30, 1976. They relocated to Brookings in July 1976.
He was a past exalted ruler of the Klamath Falls Elks Lodge and an associate member of the Brookings Elks Lodge. He was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors are his wife Evelyn Lemire, Brookings; son Jerry Lemire, Lake Oswego; step-daughter Francine Orr, Redding, Calif.; brothers Charles Lemire, Seattle; Ben Lemire, Terrebonne.
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request, no formal services will be conducted.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary Chapel.
