Jack Earl Pool, 76, Arkansas City, Kan., died June 1, 2000, at the Riverview Manor in Oxford, Kan.
He was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Francis and Marie (Lock) Pool.
He was reared and educated in Arkansas City. He worked for Steffens Dairy, Acton Manufacturing, the Arkansas City Fire Department and Rodeo Meat Packing Co.
He married Mary Wisebox in 1942. He left Arkansas City in 1954 for California.
Mr. Pool worked as an operating engineer for the Linde Air Co. in Oakland, Calif., for many years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 in Oakland. He attended the Church of God Holiness.
He returned to Arkansas City in 1988.
Survivors include daughters Marilyn Pool, Oakland, Calif.; Susan Hilton, Hawaii; sister Juanita Frankenstein, Mesa, Ariz.
Also surviving are several grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were parents Francis and Marie Pool, son Jack Pool Jr.; daughter Annie.
Funeral services were held June 6 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. The Rev. Ronald T. Cross officiated.
He was buried at the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City.
