Iona Edith Pfefferle, 95, Brookings, died May 22, 2002, in Sacramento. She was born April 13, 1907, in Waldo. She moved to Brookings with her family when she was in the first grade and was the first and only graduate of Brookings-Harbor High School in 1925. She attended Fabiola Hospital School of Nursing in Oakland, Calif., and graduated as a registered nurse. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento for many years. She retired in 1972. Ms. Pfefferle enjoyed traveling, reading, and maintaining correspondence with family and friends. She is survived by six nieces. Private internment will be at Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction. |
