Howard F. Hoese, 84, Brookings, died June 9, 2002, at his home in Brookings of natural causes. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran and a survivor of the sinking of the USS Yorktown by the Japanese. He was a former owner of Harbrook Jewelers. He is survived by children, Grethe Ann and Galiza Hoese, both of Washington; grandchildren, Jason and Kira Hoese; and a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and B.A. Adams of Brookings. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, in 1982; and his son Steve, in 1988. Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will be in Hickman, Neb., at a later date. |
