Hope Blakee

Hope Blakee, 79, Brookings, died Jan. 15, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Pasadena, Calif.

She married John Blakee, who was in the Air Force. The couple lived in different cities, including the San Diego area. They settled in Red Bluff, Calif., from 1977 to 1997, and then moved to Brookings.

Mrs. Blakee enjoyed painting, reading and jigsaw puzzles, and was a multi-talented seamstress.

She is survived by her husband; and daughters, Leslie Aleshire of Seal Beach, Calif., Christine Kincaid of San Diego, Calif., and Anna Lee of Temecula, Calif.; brother, Wade Hampton of San Ramon, Calif.; and sister, Arlene Elkin.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Interment services are scheduled to be at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
