Henry Clay “Hank” Henson, 92, of Brookings, passed away June 21, 2011, in Medford. He was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Bryan County, Okla., to Dora Hamilton Henson and Walter Abbot Henson. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a technical sergeant, aerial engineer 2750, from Dec. 31, 1941 to Sept. 29, 1945. He participated in all the invasions in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and Berlin to the end of the war. Survivors include his wife Florence Eleanor Logsdon Becker Henson of Brookings; daughters Helen Andria Henson, Ellen Sandria Henson Karasinski and her husband Kenneth Karasinski; stepson William Clarence Becker and his wife Merrilee Hill Becker; sister Teresa Jane Henson Revel; granddaughters Kristen Karasinski Santoyo and her husband Alfredo Santoyo, Elizabeth Karasinski Doglio and her husband Keith Doglio, Mary Ellen Henson; grandsons Kevin Karasinski and his wife Katie Bos Karasinski, Glen Miguel Henson; step-grandchildren Brian Becker, Kim Becker Combs, Joy Becker DeGraff and husband Evert DeGraff. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Henson, sisters Maggie Henson Gaines and Nellie Henson Martin; great-nephew Jeffery Conder. A memorial service is planned for July 23, at Anna Maria Creekside Assisted Living in Medford. Another memorial service will be held at a later date at Brookings-Harbor Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances are requested to be made in his name to Providence Hospice, P.O. Box 4548, Medford OR 97501 or a charity of the donor’s choice. Submitted by the family.
