Henrick “Henk” Inthout passed away Dec. 20, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Medford, after a long battle with cancer.
Henk was born May 23, 1931, in the Netherlands.
At the age of 21, he moved to Brazil to work for Phillips Electronics Corp. He then moved to the United States to work for Hewlett Packard Co., and then later to Lockheed Corp., where he was employed as a space engineer until he retired.
Henk moved to Brookings in the 1980s. In 1988 he met Inga Rebetisch while traveling in Spain. They married in 1996, in Brookings.
Henk was fluent in seven languages, loved to fish, go world traveling, and to RV travel. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1934, and wagon master for the Elks RV club.
He is survived by his loving wife Inga of Brookings; sister Ineka Inthout; and stepchildren all residing in Holland.
No service is planned. His ashes will be scattered at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
