Helen M. Peddie Lashway, 93, died Nov. 7, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Patricia, in Harbor.
She was born in Montreal, Canada, on Aug. 15, 1907. Her mother, Mary Ellen Doyle was an immigrant from Ireland and her father, Charles Robert Peddie was born in Scotland.
Mrs. Lashway became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. in 1927 and married L. Clement Lashway in Washington, D.C., in 1929.
Having lived most of her married life in Burlington, Vt., she is mourned by the community there as well as the people who met and loved her in the Brookings-Harbor area.
She is preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Lyn Malik and Mary Lashway and three grandchildren.
Surviving children are Joan N. Daskey of Wells, Maine, Leslie Lashway of St. Albans, Vt., Patricia Lashway of Harbor, Elaine Greenough of North Hero, Vt., and Elizabeth Ferry of Brookings.
Mrs. Lashway leaves 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
A memorial mass was at St. Andrews Abbey in Valyermo, Calif., on Nov. 8. Internment will be beside her husband at Resurrection Park in Burlington, Vt.
