Harley William Freshour, 82, Brookings, died of pneumonia Sept. 11, 2000.
He was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Jeffersonville, Ohio, to Harley and Florence Freshour.
He was raised in Ohio and graduated from high school in North Hollywood. He also attended college in North Hollywood.
He married Mabel F. Schade Sept. 14, 1940, in Glendale, Calif. They relocated to Los Altos, Calif., where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft Space and Missile in Burbank and Sunnyvale, Calif., for 34 years.
Mr. Freshour retired in 1973 and moved to Brookings.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and scuba diving.
He is best known for his love of his family, cheerful personality and devotion to fishing, his family said.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years Mabel Freshour, Brookings; daughter Jeanene Freshour-Craft, Salinas, Calif.; son Harley Lee Freshour, Brookings; grandchildren Kelley Conner, Taylor Craft and Beau Freshour; great-grandchildren Kasey Scott Conner and Kaley Monet Craft; sisters Helen Dinwidde, Southern Calif.; Maxine Freshour, Ohio.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary Chapel.
