Grace Elise Nelson Krambeal
Jan. 15, 1927-Dec. 27, 2013
A graveside service will be held for Grace Elise Nelson Krambeal, 86, of Gold Beach, at noon, Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Gold Beach Cemetery — at the south end of town — pastor Don Berney of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship officiating.
Grace was born Jan. 15, 1927, in North Bend, to Julius and Margaret Nelson.
She passed away Dec. 27, 2013, in Colgate, Wis.
Grace lived up Haynes Inlet in North Bend, and was valedictorian of her high school class of 1944.
She married Norman Krambeal on July 1, 1950. They then lived near her parents until moving to Gold Beach in 1955.
Grace worked as a secretary before her children were born. During most of their early years she was a homemaker. As they grew older, she went to work for the Curry County Reporter. She had an eye for grammar and spelling and automatically would proofread everything. This worked out great for checking the children’s homework, as well.
During Grace’s life she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, music, being around animals, singing and square dancing. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
Grace is survived by her daughter Peggy Hampton of Salem; daughter Terry and husband Jerry White of Colgate; son Gary and wife, Debbie Krambeal of Brookings; daughter Melinda and husband Andy Zelinski of West Allis, Wis. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Margaret Nelson; and husband Norman Krambeal.
Coos Bay Chapel.
