Gordon K. Asher, 72, Gold Beach, died Oct. 4, 2000.
He was born July 15, 1928, in Gold Beach, to Gordon Asher, Sr. and Rae Asher.
He married Linda Asher July 26, 1969.
Mr. Asher was served during the Korean War and attended the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy.
He served as a construction engineer during his time in Germany in 1952.
He member of the Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed many years of fishing the Rogue River.
Survivors are his wife Linda Asher, Gold Beach; sons Eric Asher, Portland; Kenneth Asher, Vancouver, Wash.; daughter Rhonda Webberley, Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren Stephen Asher, Portland; KayLynn Asher and Leon Webberley, both of Vancouver; Joshua Asher, Arizona; sister Isabelle Paolino, Bermuda Dunes Banning, Calif; nephews Shaun Carpenter, Gold Beach; Gary Paolino, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; nieces Tracy Hockema and Donene Landerlip, Gold Beach.
Also surviving are numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Donald Asher, sisters Dorothy Carpenter and Jeraldine Asher.
Graveside services will be today (Oct. 7) at 2 p.m. at Rogue River Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Owan Sloan, Bill Turner, Bobby Reinert and Frank Phipps.
Arrangements are under the direction of Littys Funeral Directors, Gold Beach Chapel.
