Georgia Rae Poole-Alexander went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2013.
Her bright light began on Dec. 15, 1950, in Gold Beach, the only daughter to Barbara Doll and Ken Curry.
Georgia graduated from Gold Beach High School. Then leaving her small town behind she headed to Portland in pursuit of a modeling career. Georgia stayed true to a promise she had made to her father by traveling the world and stepping foot on every continent.
After many years, she moved to Brookings with her son Sean Poole, where she found her niche selling real estate. She was able to work hard, travel the world, live life to the fullest, and raise a family.
Georgia had many interests, which included martial arts, bowling, swimming, and golfing. Her love for people and animals was demonstrated in her travels and her work with South Coast Humane Society.
As much as she loved her family, friends, animals, and traveling, there was something she loved the most – that was the Lord Jesus Christ.
Georgia is survived by her husband Bruce Alexander; mother Patricia Curry; brother Mike and wife Patty Curry; brother Patrick Curry; her children: son Sean Poole; daughter Kala and husband Robert Johnson; daughter Kelly and husband Jonathon Fargher; son Cameron and wife Erin Alexander; daughter Chantrell Alexander, daughter Crystal and husband Mike Crofford. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Church of Nazarene, 1600 Chetco Ave., Brookings. A reception will follow.
