George A. Zynda, 76, Harbor, died Aug. 7, 2000, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Modesto, Calif.
He lived in Harbor for the last several years. Prior to moving to the area, he was a resident of Ukiah, Calif.
Mr. Zynda was an avid fisherman who enjoyed traveling to Lake Don Pedro.
He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946. He worked for Pacific Bell for 30 years retiring in 1977.
Survivors are his wife Betty Zynda, Harbor; daughters Christine and husband Bill Oldham, Redwood Valley; Patti Mattern and Joe Cooke, Ukiah, Calif.; stepdaughters Roberta Atay, Gladstone; Susan and husband Dewinn Brady, Harbor.
Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Colleen Zynda, daughter Rosemary Zynda, son Thomas Zynda and brother Earl Zynda.
A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Ukiah Cemetery.
