July 1, 1952–April 11, 2013

Former Brookings resident Gary L. Holcomb went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2013, of natural causes. 

He was born July 1, 1952,  in Salem, to Earl and Marcelyn (Brennan) Holcomb.

He married Marcie M. Chess, the love of his life on Aug. 2, 1971.

He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, the outdoors and fishing. He worked in the lumber industry as a millwright and retired as a millwright supervisor in 2011.

He is survived by his son Tory Holcomb and wife Tessa, of Powell Butte; brother Jim; sisters Judy, Dianna, Mary, and Terrie; grandchildren Brittany Ferera and Tristan, Trinity and Tahera Holcomb.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife Marcie; daughter Angel; parents Earl and Marcelyn; brothers Mike and Roger; and sister Rhonda.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Deschutes Memorial Gardens, 63875 North Highway 97 in Bend. A potluck reception will follow at the Redmond Grange Hall, 707 SW Kalama Ave., in Redmond.  

 The family requests contributions be made in his name to to Deschutes County 4-H or any Ronald McDonald House.
