Fred Wiliams Stutsman

Fred Williams Stutsman, 81, Grants Pass, died May 5, 2000.

He was born Dec. 20, 1918. He graduated high school in Glendale, Calif.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served in the invasions of China, Asia Pacific, Africa, Sicily, Salerno, Anzio, Normandy and Korea.

Mr. Stutsman served on the Brookings Port Commission from 1966 to 1978. He was a members of the Elks Lodge, the Oregon Guide and Packers Association, the Northwest Steelheaders and the Oregon Coast Guard Association.

Survivors are brother Everett (Larry) Stutsman, and nephews Michael and Mark Stutsman, all of Seattle.

A memorial was held May 10 at the Church of the Bretheren in Grants Pass.
