Forest Woodrow Lyons

Forest Woodrow Lyons, 53, died of natural causes Sept. 22, 2002, at his home in Fairfield, Calif.

He was born April 13, 1949, in Grants Pass.

He attended Brookings-Harbor schools, graduating in 1967.

Mr. Lyons was a heavy equipment operator for Local No. 3 Operating Engineers. He had worked for John Wheeler Logging for several years prior to owning his own company Forest Lyons Logging for 15 years.

He lived in Red Bluff for 10 years before moving to Fairfield a year ago.

Mr. Lyons enjoyed woodworking, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his mother, Stella Lyons of Brookings; daughter, Christine Benner of Red Bluff, Calif.; brother, Garth Lyons of Springfield, Calif.; sisters, Marsha Geraghty of Brookings; son, Kenneth Lyons of Michigan, nephew, Damon Bircher, along with numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, Audrey Bener and Jacob Benner of Red Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his father Wendell Lyons in 1981 and sister, Karen Lyons Bircher in 1998.

Memorial services were Friday at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.
