Elizabeth (Gronau) Krone, 93, Brookings, died July 2, 2000, at a Brookings care facility.
She was born Nov. 17, 1906, in Elgin, Neb., to Henry and Marie (Stinback) Gronau.
She moved to South Dakota with her parents when she was 11 years old.
She married Ernest Krone Dec. 8, 1926, in South Dakota. They relocated to Glendale, Calif., in 1952.
Mrs. Krone retired from General Controls in 1973.
She enjoyed her family, cooking, gardening, crocheting and staying busy.
Survivors are daughter and son-in-law Alta and Robert White, Brookings; sons Arnold and Alan Krone, and daughter-in-law Phyllis, all of San Diego, Calif.; sister Marie Reich, Glendale, Calif.; brothers Fred Gronau and his wife Margrette, Watertown, S.D.; Henry Gronau and his wife Pat of Brainerd, Minn.; grandchildren Debbie and her husband Jimmy Simpson, Brookings; Jordan and Jarret, both of San Diego, Calif.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers and four sisters.
A memorial luncheon is planned for today (July 8) at noon at her granddaughters residence.
The family requests that remembrances be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brookings.
Arrangements are under the direction of Scantlins Brookings Mortuary and Chapel.
