Durward Perry Dady, 77, Brookings, died Oct. 25, 2001, at the Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Broken Bow, Neb., to Rev. and Mrs. Harry Dady.
He graduated from Santa Ana High School and lived most of his life in Orange County, Calif.
He married Donna Joan Marsh in Las Vegas Dec. 31, 1976. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Southeast Asian Theater. He followed his family into farming and also became a licensed general contractor.
Mr. Dady retired in 1989 and moved to Medford, then Brookings in 1997. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5726 in Central Point and a member of the Brookings-Harbor Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and bowling.
He is survived by his wife; and children, Lynn, Keith, and Ralph Dady; Marilyn Laughland, Sandra Rosencrans, Linda Swearington and Carolyn McManus.
He is also survived by five stepchildren, 28 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister, Estella Harris, and brothers, Donald and Benjamin Dady.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Willard Dady.
A memorial service was Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church in Medford. A private internment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
